At zero cost, and practically zero carbon, BTR brings transportation engineers, planners, & policymakers together globally by removing the burden of travel, the cost of registration, & emissions associated with transport & accommodations – EVERY YEAR.

Conference Information

We solicit paper submissions from January through March each year (via past registrants & co-sponsoring organizations) and welcome transport researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines, particularly individuals who are unable to obtain a visa or afford traveling to and participating in international conferences.

Since its inception in 2018, BTR is now in its seventh year, taking place on AUGUST 6 & 7, 2025 – in both hemispheres (so everyone can be wide awake for at least half the events).

In collaboration with the journal npj Sustainable Mobility and Transport, Best Paper Award in Sustainable Transport will be conferred at the upcoming BTR7. This award celebrates scholarly excellence and provides an opportunity for broader dissemination of impactful research. Details are available in the BTR blog or the LinkedIn post.
