earmark voices

List available voices, or hear one.
earmark voices [--engine {kokoro, say}] [--lang CODE] [--all]
               [--try VOICE] [--text TEXT] [-q]

Lists the voices grouped by language and annotated with Kokoro’s own grades.

  af_heart A female (default)
  af_bella A- female
  af_nicole B- female
  am_michael C+ male
  am_puck C+ male

British English

Options

Flag Default Means
--engine {kokoro, say} kokoro which backend’s voices to list
--lang CODE all only this language, by name prefix
--all off include voices Kokoro grades D or worse
--try VOICE none synthesize a sample in this voice and play it
--text TEXT a built-in sample what --try should say
-q, --quiet off just the names, one per line
--library PATH the library to act on

--lang

A single-letter name prefix, not a language code:

Code Language
a American English
b British English
e Spanish
f French
h Hindi
i Italian
j Japanese
p Portuguese
z Mandarin

This is a different thing from the --lang en-us flag on audio and publish, which is a language code passed to the model.

--all

Voices graded D or worse are hidden by default. They are bad enough that listing them would only waste your time; --all shows them anyway.

--try

Reading a grade table tells you less than three seconds of your own text does:

earmark voices --try af_bella
earmark voices --try bf_emma --text "Whatever you like."

Examples

earmark voices
earmark voices --lang b
earmark voices --all
earmark voices -q # names only, for scripting
